If you are a family history aficionado in need of a break from climbing the branches of your own family tree, I've got just the ticket for you!

Murder Once Removed by S.C. Perkins is the first of a series of mystery novels which feature professional genealogist Lucy Lancaster. Lucy concludes her research into a local wealthy family’s history with a bang. She finds an antique photograph which proves an ancestor was murdered and it may lead to proof that the murderer was the ancestor of a prominent Texas senator.

When the information hits the local news, there are a series of burglaries and finally a murder. Someone doesn’t want the proof to be found.  This book is an entertaining look into the possibilities of genealogy research.  I look forward to the second book in the series.

The library also has books in the Jefferson Tayte genealogical mysteries by Steve Robinson.  And of course our Lawrence County room contains all the resources you need to research you own family’s history.
